“Life is not an easy matter… You cannot live through it without falling into frustration and cynicism unless you have before you a great idea which raises you above personal misery, above weakness, above all kinds of perfidy and baseness” ~ Leon Trotsky

I have scars

I have wounds not proud off

The old person sometimes laugh at me

A constant reminder of how broken I was

The tears flush my eyes

As I think about the time I felt

I carried myself shamelessly

As I got recycled

Used over in every relationship

I didn’t feel any worth

And the accusers always find me

Tracing me to this dark path

That I once walked on

That I let go off

Let the bondage

Release their hold

Let me renewed

Once more

Each day is a battle

Between truth and doubt

That change is assured

And difference is a choice

I beg each day

I pray for mercy

That God will remind me again

Of his ever present grace
